The Power of the Tongue

I have been realizing lately that the thing that sometimes hinders me the most in my marriage is my inability to hold my tongue.  This revelation has created in me a desire to change that behavior and to learn how to hold back.  I have decided to dive right into the answer book for all of life's problems, the Bible, and see what God has to say about the tongue, since He after all is the Creator of everything, including our tongues.  One of my favorite websites to use when searching for what the Bible says about a particular topic is this Topical Bible.  From here when I search for Tongue I find so many verses where God talks about the tongue and it's power.  Here are a few that I found that I have decided to share.

Proverbs 21:23 Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits

Proverbs 29:20 Do you see a man who is hasty in his
words? There is more hope for a fool than for him

Proverbs 15:4 A gentle tongue is a tree of life but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

So, immediately I knew what I had to do if I wanted this area in my life to improve.  I have to come before God and ask for His help!

Matthew 7:7 - Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you

So here it is,

Dear Heavenly Father, I come before you asking with faith that I will receive the power of the Holy Spirit to help me hold my tongue in the future.  I desire, O Lord, to be a woman with a gentle tongue.  Dear God,  I want my tongue to be used to bring life, not death.  I want the words that come out of my mouth to honor You.  I want the self control that will prevent my mouth from uttering unkind words or words full of selfishness.  God make me more and more like your son Jesus, I want to be a light shining bright for You.  I want my husband to never hear me speak out in pride again.  I want to be humble, and kind, I want to lift up , encourage and cheer the man that you have chosen for me.  Thank you Lord, for giving me the assurance that I will be able to hold my tongue now in the future.  With Your Holy Spirit in me I can do all things.

Thank you, I love you!  In Jesus Name Amen

~Lavender Sachet~

Yesterday I went over to a friends house and she gave me a bag of lavender!  Oh, how I love the smell of it.  Today I decided to make a little sachet to hold the lavender!  I simply doubled the fabric so that the lavender wouldn't come through, sewed up a little pouch, nothing fancy and tied a ribbon around it!

Beading Containers

So, I recently have been saving my Gerber Baby Food plastic containers and today I found a perfect use for them.   They definitely came in handy.  There will be so many other ways I am going to use these too but, here is just one use for them I found.  I have a bunch of beading stuff.  I enjoy seed beading and in the past had used empty pimento jars, etc. for containers for my beads.  Now, they are neat and all match and I love them.

So I recently hosted a Tupperware party and was super shocked with my experience!  It was amazing.  Not only was it a lot of fun to be able to get together with some friends and snack on delicious food that was made from Tupperware, but I also got some free Tupperware just for hosting.  I got this brownie container just for being the host.
As if that wasn't enough to keep me happy, there was more!  Based on the sales I was able to pick a free gift, and then spend $69 towards any Tupperware merchandise I wanted.  So, I ended up getting all of this:

Isn't that incredible?  Also, my friend Michelle, who is a Tupperware Consultant shared how working with the company is.  They have weekly prizes to motivate you with your sales.  There is no pressure, and she said that soon she will be able to be bringing in enough income to not have to work elsewhere.  Their products are very well made, in fact they are life-time warranty.  So excited about Tupperware, that now it is actually on my bucket list to eventually own everything in their catalog :) What a great company!

My Zippered Pouch!

So, I am a beginner sewer.  I recently got a sewing machine for Christmas from my mom and have been excited about everything I will be able to make on it.  So far I have only done a few projects.  Here is one of them:

I got the fabric from Wal-Mart for only 97 cents and the zipper from a yard sale so this turned out being a budget friendly project.  I found an easy tutorial and followed it.  To make mine a little bit sturdier though I doubled the fabric!

Here is the link for the tutorial I followed.

Another Father's Day Gift

This is the one that I made for my husband!  He is a Steelers Fan, so this one was perfect for him.  I did the same thing as in my previous post, "Father's Day Gift"!  It turned out great.  My husband loves it!

Healthy Snacks

I saw this today via Facebook and I thought it was a really good idea, and had to share it.  What a smart way to make sure you are eating healthy snacks.  By conveniently pre-bagging them it makes it easier to grab them when you are wanting to  have a snack during the day.  Much better than grabbing a bag of chips or a candy bar.
